About Us

The year 2004, when the image above was taken, was a bittersweet year for our family, and one that catalyzed a time for us which would strengthen our bonds and understanding of what is important in life. We said an unexpected “so long” to our youngest sister and welcomed a new addition into our family by way of marriage. Well, maybe “welcomed” isn’t quite the right word, but either way, we ushered her into our loud, nosey Italian family the best way we knew how at the time. We’re thrilled to report that she’s still with us, though, so we couldn’t have been that scary, right? It’s all relative anyway…see what we did there?! Bad jokes and feeble puns aside, we love and appreciate her more than ever, and she’s actually the one to thank for the long-standing joke behind the name of our “Familes are Forever” candle. 

On their honeymoon, they spelled out in the sand what was intended to read, “Families are Forever.” Apparently, sand doesn’t have a spell check and the missing “i” went unnoticed until they returned home and eagerly showed us the pictures from their adventure, at which point it was quickly acknowledged and a good laugh ensued! But there’s more to the story.  

The name of our company is homage to so much of our journey as a family and where it first began. Raised in the LDS faith, the paths of each of the members of our family have taken their own direction and have strengthened our belief, wherever else it may vary, that “familes are forever.” Our family is the most important and valuable part of each of our lives, and it is a blessing that we are happy to be able to share with you. Latter-day Candle Company is a passion that we enjoy working on together. We hope that you enjoy our custom-curated and hand-poured candles that come from our family with love!
